Solar T62 Titan Gas Turbine
A popular and successful small turbine the T62 follows on from its predecessor the T41. This engine is used in a number of applications on the ground and in the air.

A common use for this unit is as an APU in a Chinook helicopter, the T62 drives a alternator and is mounted at the back of the aircraft just above the rear door.

A powerful version of the T62 the T62T32 produces 150 hp and was used in a ground generating set.

A quite unique use was in a single seat helicopter. A hand-started T62 was mounted vertically and was used to drive the rotors of a small helicopter which was built for the US Army.

The T62 has found a number of applications in homebuilt aircraft and other hobby uses. T62s are plentiful surplus engines in the US and are also easy to operate and modify.
