This twin shaft engine is related to the famous Rover P6 gas turbine, the engine that almost made it as the worlds first automotive gas turbine. The engine is in use today as a compressor unit for the Nimrod aircraft and also it is used as an APU in the HS748 aircraft.
A scaled version of this power plant the Rover 2S75 forms the basis of the Rotax CT2023 unit and Lucas CR201 unit. The gas generator section of this engines forms the basis of the Rover TJ125 Minijet Engine |
